Is Dr. Hauschka vegan?
The ingredients of Dr. Hauschka cosmetic products are predominantly of plant origin . This also applies to glycerin, stearic acid or other fat components that are obtained exclusively from plant-based raw materials. The following ingredients, among others, come from the animal kingdom:
- Beeswax, propolis, honey
- lactose
- silk powder
- wool wax
- Carmine as a dye in make-up
Why aren't all our cosmetics vegan?
Our cosmetics are not always vegan because they deliberately use ingredients from all natural kingdoms. For example, beeswax is a valuable substance for natural cosmetics. A gift from nature that we handle with particular care. For Dr. Hauschka Kosmetik only uses organic beeswax, which comes from ecologically produced beekeeping in Germany. The producers are subject to the strict guidelines of Demeter or Bioland, the association for organic farming.
Depending on the care effect and skin needs, we decide for each individual product whether we use animal raw materials. We are aware that every time we take something from nature, we bear responsibility for the environment and the quality of the material taken.
Bee protection is a tradition for us. Bee colonies have supplemented our medicinal plant garden in Eckwälden since the early 1980s.
